John Abrams started Level Up earlier in the summer of 2019. In July we agreed to a partnership and the company went Live on August 1st, 2019. I knew that a business like this was going to take a lot of work and my full attention. I took the gamble and decided to leave the financial security of my job and dedicate my time to the business. My previous employer fortunately decided to move me to part time while they found a replacement and I could train them. I juggled my schedule for Level UP and my part time job until late fall that year.

We didn’t start this business empty-handed, we each had a few clients that we delt with on alongside our full-time jobs. Once word started getting out there was a new tech place in town, we started getting more and more clients, particularly in the Stamford area because there aren’t really any other options for I.T. services. Just as our client base was starting to grow the whole world shut down for covid. This made getting parts and computers for repairs and sales difficult and costly. Being I.T. support for other essential businesses fortunately meant we still had work. Starting out Level Up did not have a physical location. All our work was conducted onsite or remotely with the occasional repairs being done out of our homes. Not having a physical location was helpful being there was very little overhead costs to operate the business, however particularly through the pandemic people didn’t want other people in their homes and remote support wasn’t always an option.

In the Spring of 2021, we were fortunate enough to have a client give us a great deal on a storefront to use in Hobart. This really put Level UP on the map, now everyone had a location to tie the name too. I operated Level Up out of the Hobart location for around 8 months. In November of ’21 I moved the business to its current location at 9 Railroad Ave in Stamford NY alongside Mountain Eagle newspaper. This location has played a key part in the success of the business. I am extremely grateful to all that have made it possible.

In 2023 John stepped down from Level Up Tech Support LLC, I have since taken full ownership and control of the business. It has been an absolute pleasure working with the community. I am Honored to support so many businesses near and far. With all the great support I have been able to expand my inventory and have more hardware and computers available and in stock and ready to go. I am super excited to see what the next 5 years bring.
